A plagiarism lawsuit filed against rap superstar Kanye West by another rapper, claiming that West”s superhit ”Stronger” is a copy of his work, was dismissed by a court today.
Vince Peters, who goes by the stage name Vince P, filed the suit in July accusing West of stealing the lyrics from his song of the same title, reported New York Post online.
Peters claimed that he had a meeting in August 2006 with John Monopoly, a collaborator of West, and showed him his work.
A month later West released a track with similar lyrics, an identical title and a similar hook.
But Illinois Judge Virginia Kendall has thrown out the case, saying the songs were not substantially similar.
