What part of your body do you like the least and why?

My calves because I ran track & cross country in high school and people use to always say “ Dang Tamara yo calves are huge”…now I love them because they look great in some stiletto’s.

Your ideal man looks like, acts like, and sounds like?

(Laughs Hysterically) Wow…You don’t have to be the finest brotha on the block but have to be easy on the eyes…gotta be able to bring him around family without scaring them. He would have to be funny becauseI’m goofy…and he has to also know when to be serious….And I Can’t forget… A man who knowswhen he has a Good woman and isn’t afriad to make a commitment!

Are you Single?

Yes I am… (Hesitant) I don’t know why  I’m single…and it’s not because…I have a hard time finding a man…it’s just that a good man hasn’t come along that can appreciate my worth.

So with that being said…are opportunities still open for Tamarah

If the right man came along I wouldn’t be opposed to it…if Love finds me I wouldn’t be opposed that…I’m not a difficult person but it’s not easy to date me.

How long have you been in the modeling business? Started modeling in high school….more because it’s what my mom wanted me to do…I wanted to enjoy my high school days… but I’ve gotten back into modeling in the last couple months.

How did you get your start in this business?

Started networking on my own…I decided modeling is what I wanted to do so I got with a great photographer to capture great photos and from there I started getting calls for Features (smile)…So I Got with the hot photographer Karl Ray the first person to shoot me and put me on the map.

How did you hook with him?

Went online to a casting website called exploretalent.com and he was casting for his model expressions book…a poetry/modeling book with images and poetry written to them…

What do you look to gain from the Modeling Industry?

Lots of success, I’ve already gained a lot I just got signed to an agency, MGI Model Management out of New York…they are working hard to book me for different projects I’m interested in…I’m looking to be a household name and face…magazines, print, commercials..You name it…. I want to show little girls that you don’t have to be 5’11” to be a model…you can be 5’4” and still become successful.

How important is your first online feature to your career at this point?

It’s extremely important…like me being up and coming in the modeling industry… 1HIPHOPUCIT.COM is an up and coming website dealing with everything in Hip Hop and the urban side of things…since I’m moving into the urban aspect of the Modeling Industry it will help me get my face out there for the world to see….and I believe with the success of this website thus far, it’s a great opportunity for me.

What are some of things you have been featured in or would like to be featured in?

My agency check me out here Twitter.com/justamara !! Fashion for a local up coming designer…called GG’s Collection, I was a promotional model for Extreme Kustoms at the 2007 DUB Car Show and Concert..Also been featured on DUBmagazine.com, KING Magazine…I’m working on that one, Smooth Magazine….Show Magazine…Any Men’s Magazine…I wouldn’t mind being a Cover Girl, that’s my ultimate dream I believe I have a face for it…Stuff Magazine, Maxim..And Black Men’s Magazine.

Where would draw the line for a feature?

Any feature with lingerie I would do as long as it’s tasteful and classy…I feel like there are different ways to get a certain look across other than posing nude or degrading yourself…same with print…I don’t knock anyone that will…for instance Playboy…but look at the money (laughs)….But in my eyes you don’t have to stoop low for a feature…don’t get me wrong I love artistic nude…as long as you’re covered up… (Smile)

What Are your Life Aspirations?

First and foremost I want to be happy… I would Love to own my own salon, I want to be a major influence on lots of people and children whether they know me or not… especially when I have children of my own I want to be a positive role model.

Every model has a MySpace page, their own website, a calendar and merchandise. What sets you apart from all the others?

What sets me aside?? (Pondering)…I definitely think…when you see a photo of me its an attention grabber…from my spikey hair to my…well I’m not gonna say that…(laughs) my spikey hair to my great smile…I’m not your average Video Girl, Model Chick, or Myspace chick, my personality sets me aside from other people in general…everything about me is so original…I tell people I must be a different breed of female…I don’t act like the average female..Is that cocky? (Laughing) just being myself.

No you’re not cocky, just being yourself…What Will You Bring Different to the Industry Being From Milwaukee?

I was born and raised here (Milwaukee, WI.) but I’ll bring a lot due to the fact that when you think of Milwaukee most people I ran into are shocked that Milwaukee has black people here. So with that being said they’ll see that Milwaukee actually has some beautiful black women here. I’m a city girl at heart with southern roots…I’ve lived here for half of my life and raised in Arkansas for the other half of my life…So when success arises I’ll put Milwaukee and Arkansas on the map. I spent an equal amount of time in both so those two places are what make me the woman I am today.

Congratulations you were Just Signed To Your First Agency…How’d that Come About?

It was really a blessing, we sort of found each other… well…my agent Nathan Daniels is such a sweetheart; he’s hilarious he works very hard and keeps me in the loop with things…I’ve only been signed for a week and I’m definitely hearing good things…I’m excited to get out there and start working.

What’s More Important…Money or Your Career?

My career is definately more important…hey they say more money more problems…I want people to say, “She wasn’t that girl that just made a lot of money, she had a promising career”…not “she was that girl that made six figures as a model.” Money doesn’t hurt though (Laughs) ….I believe we all must be cautious of both, our career choices and the way we spend our money…

If you had to quit the modeling game right now, what are your plans for your career?

Hopefully I won’t have to quit any time soon but if I had to, I still have my job and education to fall back on.

Most People Associate Models Pictures with Sex….And build their Own Assumptions…What Would You Say About that?

In the industry sex sell its hard to get people to think different but there is way more to it…people don’t understand that some of these girls have careers…or are in school…until that changes people will be perceived one way or another…as long as you know you have a goal at hand…nothing else should matter..

Are you in school?

Yes, I attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and I’ll be done… well, I’m  Shooting for summer of 08 Tuition ain’t no punk man..My major is in Communication with a minor in Marketing, I also  work full time at a Corporate Company called American Ring and Tool…where I do inside sales.

Very driven and busy young lady might I say, what are you working on at the moment Besides the U-C-IT Beauties of 1HIPHOPUCIT.com Calendar? What a Plug… (Smile)

(Laughs) A couple of different clients are looking at me for different things that at this point I’m not at liberty to discuss (smile) …working with different photographers in the Chicago area, doing different shoots. I plan to start working on my own calendar pretty soon…hopefully it will be out in 08’….

When it’s all said and done what do you Want People to Know About you and Your Career?

It’s so much more to me than what meets the eye…I’m so cool, so laid back… I love to make people laugh… and I’m kind of a homebody…
