Unless you were living under a rock or something over the past year or so, you would have seen the pictures that hit the net last summer of the rapper looking sickly and thin. But don’t worry, it was just for his new movie “Things Fall Apart,” which is set to make its big world premiere next week in Miami during the Miami International Film Festival.

In the film, based on a true story about one of 50’s friends, the “In Da Club” rapper stars as a football player for Michigan named Deon Barnes, who one day hopes to make it to the NFL. But his plans are halted when one day, he unfortunately realizes he has cancer.

“Things Fall Apart was a true collaboration between 50 Cent and director Mario Van Peebles,” MIFF Executive Director Jaie Laplante told AllHipHop in a statement. “50 Cent’s physical transformation combined with Mario’s vision for the film kept the story fresh, gritty and powerful. Fans in Miami will have a unique opportunity to see the film well before the rest of the world does.”

The movie, which was produced through 50 Cent’s Cheetah Vision Films with partner Randall Emmett, also stars Ray Liotta and Lynn Whitfield, will debut at the Gusman Center in Miami on March 5th.
