2 Chainz rolled out the video for “No Lie” during his appearance on “106 & Park” on Monday. Draped in a red and gold Chanel jacket and Hawks hat, the in-demand MC opened up about touring with Drake on the “Club Paradise” tour, his hustle, and how he knows when a song is a hit.
During his recent trip to Qatar with Kanye West and the G.O.O.D. Music family, he met with the prince and filmed the “Mercy” video in the parking garage of his $250 million palace.
Next up, 2 Chainz will hit the stage for the first time at the BET Awards on July 1.
“I already told BET that they were gonna need extra wet floor signs on stage,” he cautioned. “It’s gonna be a lot of swag dripping. Don’t want nobody to fall.”
2 Chainz recently received a phone call at 5:30 a.m. from R&B crooner Maxwell, who shared some words of advice.
“[He] was like, ‘What up fool?’” recalled the rapper. “He said, ‘Just keep doing what you doing.’ He said, ‘Don’t let no rappers hear your music because people tried to take my stuff. Just drop it on ‘em like a bomb.’ So I don’t want nobody to hear [my album Based on a T.R.U. Story] until it comes out on August 14.”
