Young Jeezy finally made it official by announcing a release date for his long-delayed album Thug Motivation 103 during his anniversary show in New York this week. But that’s not all. In support of his fourth project, the Atlanta MC will be hitting the road on a headlining U.S. tour.
The 5-week, 31-city trek kicks off July 29 in Dallas and travels to Houston, Boston, and Philadelphia, before wrapping September 2 in Seattle. Opening most dates will be rapper Freddie Gibbs, who is signed to Jeezy’s Corporate Thugz Entertainment label.
The Snowman also revealed some of the high-profile collaborations on TM103, his first album since 2008’s The Recession. In addition to “Lose My Mind” featuring Plies, the Lil Wayne-assisted “Ballin’,” and “Shake Life,” Jay-Z and Drake make appearances on “I Do,” which also includes a second version with OutKast’s André 3000.
“It’s a different type of track for me,” Jeezy told Rolling Stone of the “splashy, classic-soul-inspired jam.”
