Tyra Banks, the 37-year-old former model and media mogul revealed that she has been using her free time by attending Harvard Business School.
Via Pop Eater: PEOPLE reports that the star, whose eponymous talk show ended its run last year, has been attending Harvard’s three-part, nine-week Owner/President Management Program since 2010.
“When people have low expectations, you’re just constantly going, ‘Ta-da!’ And they’re like, ‘Wow,'” she says.
Banks, who founded women’s empowerment non-profit TZONE in 1999, says of her decision to pursue an education, “In order for my company to grow and be the best, and to reach these women, and to serve them, I needed the best. So I went to the best.”
Banks, who had planned to attend L.A.’s Loyola Marymount University before she began modeling, says that this dream has been a long time in the making.
“The day that I put college on hold because I got discovered to go to Paris and try this whole modeling thing … was one of the most difficult decisions of my entire life.”
In addition to the world-class education, Banks is getting another valuable perk: the ability to silence her detractors.
