A separate incident is what led police to charge Boosie with trying to smuggle codeine into prison.

Lil Boosie has been accused of trying to get codeine into the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. The Louisiana State Police has filed charges against him and two other inmates after learning of their attempts to smuggle the syrup into the prison.

According to WAFB, the Baton Rouge, Louisiana native made arrangements through an undercover agent to have the codeine brought into the prison. The three men have been charged with conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution, while Boosie was served with the additional charge of inciting a felony.

Boosie, who is currently behind bars for the first-degree murder of Terry Boyd, is also in danger of losing his home after Louisiana State announced plans to sell his house.

According to The Advocate, a credible threat against East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore III and his office led authorities to Lil Boosie’s drug charges in May.

“I can confirm that we received information relative to a credible threat against District Attorney Hillar Moore and the District Attorney’s Office,”

State Police spokesman Lt. Doug Cain said.

The threat remained unsubstantiated, but Cain said that it led to Boosie’s arrest for trying to smuggle codeine syrup into jail. Boosie will next go before a judge tomorrow (June 22nd) to “recuse the District Attorney’s Office from the murder case” since his lawyer claims Moore has a “personal interest” in the case.
