Thirteen years after releasing his breakthrough album The Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem will deliver the highly-anticipated sequel. In advance of Tuesday’s release, he has made the album available for streaming on iTunes.
The project, executive produced by Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin, features the Rihanna-assisted single “The Monster,” plus collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Skylar Grey, and fun.’s Nate Ruess.
“Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations,” the Detroit MC told Rolling Stone. “I wouldn’t want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs—and just when you think you got it, you listen and you’re like, ‘Fuck, man! I feel like it needs this or that,’ to paint the whole picture.”
To promote MMLP2, he will perform on “SNL” tomorrow and at Sunday’s YouTube Music Awards. On his album release day, he will sit down for a Q&A session on SiriusXM’s Shade 45.
