Following the release of his breakout debut, the controversial XXXTentacion has signed a reported $6 million deal with Capitol Music Group.
Billboard reports that the South Florida rapper’s new deal comes through Caroline, the indie distributor and that it will cover future material from the “Look at Me!” hitmaker.
Earlier this year, X released his debut album 17 through Bad Vibes Forever/Empire Records. It entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 after getting the stamp of approval from Kendrick Lamar.
The XXL Freshman comes with controversy, as well. The rapper has been plagued by legal problems, including a charge of aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, and more. His trial starts Dec. 11.
Feuds have also followed Tentacion. He sparked a rivalry with Drake, accusing the 6 God of stealing his “Look at Me!” flow. His beef with Rob Stone reportedly led to a series of confrontations, including an alleged onstage knockout.
