And they won’t stop. Puff Daddy & The Family are set to reunite for a “one night only” concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Friday, May 20.
The epic celebration is slated to include Diddy, Faith Evans, Lil’ Kim, Ma$e, French Montana, Total, 112, and Mario Winans, plus special performances by Jay Z and Mary J. Blige. The date is also significant because it’s one day before what would be the Notorious B.I.G.’s 44th birthday.
“This isn’t just another concert—this is hip-hop history,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs. “The Bad Boy Family includes some of the biggest names in music and songs that helped define a whole generation of music. Also, we are celebrating one of the greatest of all time—Notorious B.I.G. This will be a night to remember. I can’t wait to see you all there.”
The Bad Boy family will perform hits spanning the famed label’s 20 years. Last June, fans were given a sneak peek during the 2015 BET Awards, where Puff, Lil’ Kim, Ma$e, and more brought down the house with a lively performance.
The announcement comes after Faith Evans, Biggie’s former wife, confirmed rumors of Biggie hologram plans.
“We actually are in development with a hologram [company],” she recently revealed. “I don’t necessarily know to what extent I’m going to perform with it, but I definitely want to debut it probably in the first video for the album and maybe use it a little bit performance-wise, but that depends on a lot of things.”
It’s unclear whether the hologram will take part in the reunion concert. In any case, tickets for the show are set to go on sale Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m. through Live Nation.
