Nigaila Gibbs, a 20-year-old St. Louis area prostitute, was jailed Thursday after she allegedly had sex with hundreds of men while knowing she was HIV positive.

According to St. Louis County police, an undercover officer arrested Gibbs at her apartment after she reportedly tried to prostitute herself to him while knowing she had HIV.

Investigators say Gibbs has been a prostitute for many years – finding her customers via curbside solicitation and various online ads. She reportedly earned $70-$200 for the various sex acts she provided.

Authorities believe she saw as many was two clients a day, four days a week, not including her “regular customers.”

Gibbs was booked into the St. Louis County jail and charged with felony prostitution while knowingly infected with HIV. She is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

So far, two men who Gibbs allegedly solicited have been confirmed as contracting the disease.

Police encourage anyone who may have had sex with Gibbs to get an HIV test and to call the County Bureau of Crimes Against Persons at 314-889-2341.
