Goon Affiliated, the hugely anticipated new album from Big Gates recording artist Plies, has made a truly explosive chart entry, debuting at #5 on the overall Sounds can/Billboard 200.
The album — which includes the breakout hit single, She Got It Made — arrived at #1 on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts, while also coming in among the week’s top 15 Top Digital Albums.
Plies’ fourth full-length release sees the Fort Myers, Florida-based rap superstar teaming with such studio stars as The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Polow Da Don, J.R. Rotem, and Clinton Sparks. In addition to surefire hits like Becky, Goon Affiliated also includes guest appearances from Keri Hilson (Medicine), Trey Songz (Kitty Kitty), and Young Jeezy & Fabolous (Look Like).
With his award-winning streak of hit singles and smash albums, Plies is without question one of the modern era’s biggest Hip-Hop superstars. Goon Affiliated follows the rapper’s two 2008 releases, the RIAA gold certified Definition Of Real — featuring the #1 single, Bust It Baby Part 2 (ft. Ne-Yo) — and Da REAList, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart upon its December 2008 release. The two collections followed hot on the heels of Plies’ enormously popular 2007 debut, The Real Testament, which received RIAA gold certification fueled by the gold-certified blockbuster singles, Shawty (ft. T-Pain) and Hypnotized (ft. Akon).
Plies has also been an in-demand collaborator, appearing on such current hits as Usher’s Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home) and Young Jeezy’s Lose My Mind, as well as recent tracks from Ne-Yo, Akon, Jamie Foxx, Ludacris, Chris Brown, and others.
