Tamar Braxton has a new look.

In the midst of ongoing marital issues, the R&B songstress has decided to shave her head. Taking to Instagram, Braxton shared a video of her hairstylist going over her head with clippers.

Perhaps making an additional statement, the video was soundtracked by Bobby Brown’s

“My Prerogative.” She captioned the video: “finally free.”

Shortly afterwards, she shared a photo of her new look with fans.

“Im over feeling captive to a wig, weave, people, people’s comments & opinions hell…even my OWN feelings,” she wrote. “WE can choose to stop these things from having the power and victory over us!! And for me, that starts TODAY.”

Braxton has been going through other changes, as well. In October, she filed for divorce from her husband of nearly nine years, Vincent Herbert. But last month, she appeared with her estranged husband on “The View,” where she explained their issues.

“I felt like divorce was the only option that I had left,” said Braxton. “Although we’re in extensive counseling. That is much more needed and it still will always be. The bigger picture of everything is we have a responsibility to my amazing four-year-old son, to raise him in the most comfortable, amazing, loving, secure household that we can. That’s why we don’t live together.”

For his part, Herbert seemed willing to reconcile.

“I love this lady with all my heart,” he explained. “I love my family with all my heart. I will never stop fighting for my family, and trying to make it be great.”

Their relationship drama is also unfolding on the new season of WE tv’s “Braxton Family Values.”
