Nicki Minaj continues to break records with her debut album Pink Friday. The LP, which was released fourteen weeks ago, has broken the record for most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart for a female rap album.
The Young Money femcee announced the news to her fans via her official Twitter account on Wednesday (March 2), writing, “Now 14 weeks: Pink Friday breaks the record for most consecutive weeks in the top 10 by a female rap album on Billboard’s 200.”
The latest feat joins several other accolades the Queens-bred rapper has picked up including breaking the record for the number of entries on the Billboard Hot 100 by a female rapper in October and becoming the first female rapper to have the number one album in the country. She also became the first female rapper to take the top spot on the Billboard Rap Songs chart for her single Your Love.
Prior to Nicki, Lil Kim’s album The Notorious K.I.M. remained in the Billboard 200 chart’s top ten for two straight weeks and Lauryn Hill’s solo debut The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill remained in the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart for ten consecutive weeks.
