The King is back. T.I. has released the full version of “Dope,” his new Dr. Dre-produced, Marsha Ambrosius-featured single, which samples Aaliyah’s classic “Rock the Boat.”
The Troubleman flows effortlessly over Dre’s classic drums, while Marsha delivers some melodic vocals on the hook. “Dre, where you get this shit, man?” he asks, at one point. “Come on, Tip,” the legendary producer responds.
The song is about feeling high off life, something that the new TIDAL partner also brags about on the outro. “Look,” he says. “I’m telling you, man, if you could get the high I’m on…I mean, winning got me blowed, man. I swear.”
“Dope” is accompanied by a star-studded video, which features André 3000, Big Sean, Travis Scott, and more. It also leads up to Tip’s 10th studio album, The Dime Trap, which has been billed as a bit of a return to the Atlanta rhymer’s Trap Muzik days.
