Last month, Drake vowed to release new music. Today, he carries out that promise in the form of “Bring It Back,” a collaboration with Atlanta’s Trouble and Mike WiLL Made-It.
The 6 God takes aim at his enemies over Mike WiLL’s hard-hitting production.
“I don’t play no games, boy, I’m at your head,” he raps. “All about the family, ni**as took the pledge / Now you gotta own up to that shit you said.”
Meanwhile, Trouble warns haters of his own.
“Hating on that man won’t do you no blessing / Tryna teach a young ni**a flexin’ / Wanna go to war, but you ain’t got no money / Worrying ’bout these hoes and you ain’t got no money.”
With “Bring It Back,” Drizzy follows through on a November promise.
“I’m always working for you,” he said. “I’m never sitting around wasting time. I got shit coming. Don’t worry.”
“Bring It Back” is set to appear on Trouble and Mike WiLL Made-It’s joint project EdgeWood.
“Me and Trouble did a whole project in like three or four days, and then I let Drake hear it and Drake was like, ‘Yo, this song is crazy,’ and he ended up hopping on that joint, smoking that joint,” he told the L.A. Leakers in March. “We shot the video and everything. We’re just trying to make sure that project is all the way ill and complete and done.”
