Nearly one year after leaving “The Real,” Tamar Braxton unleashes a heart-wrenching new track, “My Man.”
With a powerful voice, Braxton shares heartache of deception.
“Boy, you let me down,” she sings. “I am so confused / I stood right by your side / Through everything that you went through / Why is she around, why are you so cruel?”
Eventually, the heartbroken songstress breaks it all down on the chorus.
“I don’t want to hear no bullshit stories about my man,” she sings. “I just can’t believe that you’re with her / I just can’t believe she stole my man.”
Based on the cover art, it appears the song was inspired by Tamar’s parents, Evelyn Braxton and Michael Conrad Braxton Sr. Taking to Instagram, the R&B songstress said the story will be revealed on tonight’s episode of “Braxton Family Values.”
“This is NOT about what I’m selling cause it’s NEVER been about that for me,” she wrote. “It’s about what we ALL have been through and how we all can/ have/ WILL overcome things. No matter what side of the coin you are on,take your responsibility in it. No one is REALLY guilty of love.. but we are ALL guilty of HURT!!”
“My Man” is the first single off Tamar’s first project since 2015’s Calling All Lovers. Back in January, she spoke about the forthcoming album with “Hollywood Today.”
“I feel like I’m making the album of my life,” she said. “This album, for me, is so personal and so amazing, and I get to work with Rodney Jerkins, who I’ve always wanted to work with. I get Rodney and Vincent Herbert together. That sounds like a Grammy sandwich.”
