Lupe Fiasco lights a fire on “Words I Never Said,” the politically-charged second single from his long-awaited album Lasers, due March 8. The Alex Da Kid production, described by Lupe as “a big, controversial record,” tackles hot button issues including the war on terror, the failing economy, and education.
“We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth/ So scared of what you think of me, I’m scared of even telling you,” spits the Chi-town MC over the hard-edged beat.
Singer-songwriter Skylar Grey cries out on the hook:
“It’s so loud inside my head with words that I should have said/ As I drown in my regrets, I can’t take back the words I never said.”
