The summer starts now. After a surprise announcement, DJ Khaled unleashes “Top Off,” a powerhouse collaboration with JAY-Z, Beyoncé, and Future that’s set to appear on his forthcoming 11th album, Father of Asahd.
Boasting production from Khaled and Joe Zarillo, the new banger allows Hndrxx to set it off with an amped-up chorus.
“I took the top off the Maybach,” he raps. “I see the popo behind me, I ain’t gon’ stop.”
JAY-Z takes the baton from there and delivers a wide-ranging verse about everything from Meek Mill’s ongoing legal issues to an apparent George Zimmerman reference.
“Free my ni**a, Meek Mill,” he raps. “Ni**as can’t wheelie in this free world / Meanwhile Georgie Porgie sinnin’ and sendin’ me threats / Save your breath, you couldn’t beat a flight of steps / Try that shit with a grown man / I’ll kill that fuckboy with my own hands.”
