Two years ago, NeNe Leakes claimed that she’s a “very rich, b—h.” Although her former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star, Sheree Whitfield, and many of the shows fans didn’t believe her, Leakes has steadily been bringing in more lucrative checks. Now Leakes has reportedly become the highest paid star of “The Real Housewives” franchise as it’s been alleged that she inked a $1 million deal plus bonuses to return for the sixth season of “RHOA.”
“NeNe is the one viewers watch. Bravo knows that and that’s why they gave her a raise,” said a source close to the show’s production to RadarOnline.
Before last season, Leakes voiced that she was unsure about her future at the show, and she’s since branched out and secured roles on both Glee and The New Normal. However, Leakes claimed a few months ago that she would stick with RHOA because sources claim that the money is just too good for Leakes to pass up.
“She likes being on the show. NeNe is really happy with the New Normal and Glee, where she can be a real actress. She knows however, her bread and butter comes from Bravo and that’s why she’s coming back.
Leakes’ new contract supports claims from last year that she was already the highest paid star of the franchise and her status as top dog is allegedly not sitting well with all of her cast mates, all of whom have signed on for season six as well.
“Everyone gets it, NeNe is the favorite. They’re still jealous of course. They wish they could earn what NeNe makes because they don’t think she would be nearly as popular without fighting with them,” the source claimed.
Well, kudos to Leakes on proving once again, that she’s one “very rich” housewife-turned-working girl.
