Get ready to ride with Nelly again. The St. Louis rapper has teamed up with Chris Brown on his new single “Merry Go Round.”
Da Internz, who are responsible for Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake,” Ludacris’ “Jingalin’,” and Nas’ “The Don,” produced the “club anthem” for Nelly’s upcoming seventh album.
“We’re super excited about the new Nelly single we got coming out called ‘Merry Go Round’ featuring Chris Brown,” Kosine, one-half of the hitmaking duo, told Rap-Up.
They explained how the collaboration came together.
“Basically we got in the studio with Nelly, and we were like, ‘Yo, who could be on the hook?’ and we were like, ‘Chris Brown. Let’s go ahead and throw Chris on there,’” said Kosign, who previously worked with Breezy on the remix to “Birthday Cake.” “Chris got on there and laid the vocals and the rest is history.”
The record will remind fans of the old Nelly. “It’s Nellyville Nelly, all day,” said Da Internz’ Tuo in reference to his 2002 album. “It’s the Nelly that you love.”
