Fourteen years after releasing their double-platinum album J.E. Heartbreak, Jagged Edge is readying the sequel. The R&B group caters to the ladies on the lead single, “Hope,” written and produced by twin brothers Brian and Brandon Casey and Bryan-Michael Cox.
The tender ballad is a throwback to the sound we fell in love with on their 2000 album, which spawned the hits “Let’s Get Married” and “Promise.”
“Making a sequel to a classic album is difficult,” said Jermaine Dupri, who serves as executive producer of the new project. “We don’t want to stray from the blueprint of the first album. It’s definitely a challenge, but the fans won’t be disappointed.”
J.E. Heartbreak Too is due this fall.
