Tory Lanez capped off a successful 2016 with the release of his debut album I Told You and a Grammy nomination, and he has no plans of slowing down. Less than a day into the new year, the Canadian singer-rapper keeps his promise and delivers two brand new mixtapes—Chixtape 4 and The New Toronto 2.
Chixtape 4, the follow-up to 2015’s installment, features reinterpretations of familiar hits including R. Kelly’s “Ignition,” Puff Daddy’s “I Need a Girl,” and Fat Joe’s “What’s Luv?” plus “Aaliyah,” which samples the late singer’s “I Don’t Wanna.”
The New Toronto 2, the sequel to 2015’s tape, boasts appearances from Rick Ross (“Super Freak”) and A$AP Ferg (“Bal Harbour”), along with the extended version of “Bodmon Song” and “Blue Jay Season,” now called “Fargo Season.”
Lanez is confident that the 25 tracks will continue his reign. “2017 belongs to the Umbrella,” he tweeted.
