Twelve-year-old Jameshia Connor was found dead in a Chicago ally on Monday after going missing nearly two weeks ago. Her body showed signs that she had been strangled and beaten. Surprisingly, the little girl had died less that one day before police found her. Now, family members say the cops did not take her case seriously. According to a Chicago Sun Times investigative report, missing kids from urban areas are often not given the same amount of urgency that children from wealthier suburban areas are. While police stand behind their investigation, Connor’s case leaves her family, friends, neighbors and one congressman asking, “Where were the search dogs? Where was the amber alert?”
