With a Grammy under his belt, Miguel debuts the video for “Candles in the Sun,” a cut off his sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream. The R&B crooner gets serious, tackling social, political, and religious themes in the bold black-and-white visuals. He makes references to Hurricane Sandy, the Sandy Hook elementary tragedy, and the war on drugs through the powerful imagery.
“It’s so easy to ignore what’s right in front of us sometimes,” said Miguel. “I wanted to create a song and visual that addressed my everyday concerns of life as I know it in the world that we live in.”
