As reported by AOL Music, actress Meagan Good has just revealed that she was in talks with Whitney Houston to star as the fallen singer in a biopic on the icon’s life.
As The BoomBox suggested in our Biopics We Wish Would Happen & Stars We’d Want to Star in Them feature last year, Good would make a great Whitney onscreen.
“That’s my personal dream role,” she once admitted. The 30-year-old actress had a meeting set up this month to discuss the project … before Whitney’s unexpected death (Feb. 11). “We were fairly in the beginning stages. We were supposed to meet today actually,” Good told E! News on Feb. 20.
Since Meagan is not a singer, she and Houston had agreed that the actress would lip sync over Whitney’s original vocals for the movie’s performance scenes.
“I don’t think we’ve ever had a singer in history that I remember that could sing like her. Plus, when people see someone’s life story they want to hear that person’s voice because they connect with it, in their spirit and their soul. So you would have to use her voice.” Good explained.
Emotional about the lost legend, Meagan teared up as she remembered Whitney.
“For anybody spending time around Whitney, she’s so much fun. She’s got just like a sassy attitude and is very funny and funky. She’s definitely a fun person to be around.”
As for the fate of the biopic, Good said it’s too soon to think about the future of the film in light of the recent tragedy.
