For those of you who’ve been waiting for a new sitcom for the ladies, the wait will soon be over. According to Vibe, actress/rapper Queen Latifah is the executive producer of a new series that will be like a “Living Single” meets “Girlfriends,” meets “Sex and the City.” The scripted series entitled “Single Ladies,” will air on VH1 and is said to star actresses Lauren London, LisaRaye, and Stacey Dash.
This will be the network’s first official ever scripted series. The ladies recently began four-day rehearsals and are currently filming in Atlanta. The show will depict the romantic relationship of three friends. LisaRaye had this to say regarding her role:
“She doesn’t have one of anything nor does she believe in having one man. She believes in dating and being able to explore her possibilities. She’s much like Samantha of Sex in the City,” explains the Player’s Club star. “Very straight up and honest. She’s the one that has that spunk, I’d like to say that she’s the slut of the three.”
