Kid Cudi’s album Indicud leaked three weeks ahead of its scheduled release. Now the rapper and his label have responded by moving up the release date.
The follow-up to his 2010 solo album Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager was originally due April 23. But Cudi announced on Twitter that fans will be able to purchase it a week early.
“Ok so, INDICUD will be released April 16th now. Physical and digitally!! SPREAD THE WORD!!” he tweeted.
When the album leaked earlier this week, he was not upset.
“I love you all. All I wanted was for u guys to finally hear it. It makes me feel really good knowin I got the world jammin out w me again,” said Cudi.
He was pleased with the response from those who downloaded it.
“I didnt leak it. These things happen an are unavoidable so theres nothing to stress. Again, im just happy to see the love again.”
Indicud features the singles “Just What I Am,” “King Wizard,” and “Immortal,” plus collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, and Michael Bolton.
Earlier this month, Cudi announced his departure from Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music.
“This is just from a business standpoint. There’s no beef. There’s no problems with anybody on the label. It’s all love,” he said.
