Kanye West can add another plaque to his wall. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper’s latest album Yeezus has been certified platinum.
As of January 8, the album has officially sold 1 million copies in the U.S.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) made the announcement, tweeting,
“Congratulations to @kanyewest on his 7th @RIAA #Platinum album award for Yeezus – he’s 7 for 7!”
This marks Kanye’s seventh platinum album, starting with his 2004 debut The College Dropout and including his 2011 collaborative album with Jay Z, Watch the Throne.
Upon its release in June 2013, Yeezus debuted at No. 1 with 327,000 copies sold in its first week.
On February 13, Kanye will hit the road for nine additional dates on his “Yeezus” tour.
