Hov strikes again. After revealing the tracklisting and release date for his upcoming album Last Year Was Complicated, Nick Jonas says that the inspiration for the title came from none other than Jay Z.
During a recent Q&A session (via Billboard), Jonas said he met with Jay after Roc Nation partnered with his manager Phil McIntyre’s Philymack company.
At the time, Mr. Carter asked him about his life. “Last year was complicated,” Jonas told Jay. That’s when S. Dot suggested that Nick found the name of his next LP.
Last year was also when Jay Z sang along to Beyoncé while standing next to Jonas. The duo watched Bey’s “Made in America” set together in a clip that went viral.
Last Year Was Complicated is set to drop June 10 with contributions from Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, Allen Iverson, and Tove Lo, who appears on the lead single “Close.”
