Odd Future has been fielding a lot of offers from record executives who are clamoring for a chance to sign the group, and true to their off-the-wall nature the crew has come up with some interesting requests for their attention.
They reportedly requested that the execs go to the Supreme skate shop in Fairfax, California to talk business with them. SRC Records’ Steve Rifkind was able to negotiate for a meeting inside of his office however, only after he agreed to some of leader Tyler the Creator’s demands.
“If you are serious about the meeting, I want Randy’s Donuts, swivel chairs, and a megaphone,”
said Tyler allegedly to Rifkind.
Diddy, eager to sign the group to Bad Boy Records, arranged a meeting between Tyler and teen singing sensation Justin Bieber, in order to win favor with the group.
“Tyler asked Diddy for access to Justin, so he pulled strings,” said a rep for OFWGKTA. “Tyler did meet with Justin, and Diddy helped make it happen.”
Not to be outdone, Jay-Z reportedly met with the group in person back in February in an attempt to add them to his ever-growing Roc Nation roster.
“It was hard for me to look at Jay-Z for 10 minutes,” said MellowHype’s Hodgy Beats.
“Like, real sh*t, this is the godfather of music. I just shook his hand in his house. Honestly, it made me want to work harder. Jay-Z is amazing.”
