Jay Z didn’t take the Maybach or Rolls to his sold-out show at London’s O2 Arena. Instead, the hip-hop tycoon opted for a less flashy mode of transportation.
Passengers were shocked to see Mr. Carter ride alongside them on the London Underground with his entourage including Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Timbaland. They brought out their camera phones and snapped pics of the superstars, who interacted with their fellow riders.
“Casually getting on a train with Jay Z, Chris Martin, and Timbaland,” tweeted one commuter, @aminott4.
This is not the first time Jay has taken public transportation to his concert. He rode the subway to his final show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center last year. His fellow Roc Nation star Rihanna has also taken the tube to her O2 gigs.
After wrapping the European leg at the end of October, Jay will bring his “Magna Carter World Tour” to the U.S. on Nov. 30.
