Born in Ethiopia and brought up in Washington D.C.’s Garfield Terrace Projects, LoLa came from humble beginnings. No stranger to struggle, after leaving her family at the age of 15 LoLa began using her wit and street sense to navigate through life and get past her many obstacle. She took the modeling industry by storm by becoming the most sought after hip-hop model, appearing in high profile videos for 50 Cent, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Trey Songz and more. In that one to two year span LoLa also landed numerous covers and features back to back for many of the major publications. In 2007 LoLa decided to set aside her modeling career and focus on a career in rap, releasing four consecutive mixtapes: Boss B*tch’s World, Art of Motivation, Untouchables (with Boosie) and Boss B*tch’s World II: Batteries Not Included. In 2011 she was recruited by Wiz Khalifa to become the First Lady of Taylor Gang and is still the head of her own “Bosset” movement. To be a Bosset is beyond the material facades. It’s about standing for something as a woman, being in control of you and everything you allow to come into your life. It’s about being a strong, independent leader who goes after what ever she wants.
