An attorney for rapper Fat Joe has issued a statement denying charges that he was involved in the sexual assault of a 33-year-old woman after a concert in Madison, Wisconsin on Sunday (June 20th).
The woman called police after the concert around 12:46 AM early Monday (June 21st) and said Fat Joe and members of his entourage were inappropriately touching her inside his Cadillac limousine.
The unidentified woman told police they were preparing to leave to go to a hotel on the West side of the city, when Fat Joe and his entourage allegedly began to grope her.
Fat Joe’s attorney Dawn Florio Esq. said the woman initially posed as a fan and then claimed she was assaulted, after demanding money from the Bronx, New York rapper.
“At no point did Mr. Cartagena or any member of his entourage assault or have any improper contact with the woman,” Fat Joe’s attorney Dawn Florio Esq. told AHH in a statement. “It is truly unfortunate that false allegations such as these cause the public to doubt the claims of actual victims of sexual assaults.”
According to Madison, Wisconsin police, the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Fat Joe is preparing to release his new album Darkside Volume 1., which features guest appearances by Clipse, Cam’ron, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy, Too $hort and Lil Wayne.
The album is due in stores July 27th.
