DJ Khaled is up to something. Fresh off hosting the pre-show for the MTV Video Music Awards, the hip-hop mogul has been tapped to host the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2016.
BET’s head of programming, Stephen Hill, made the big announcement on Snapchat, and Khaled was happy to accept the job.
“Don’t play yourself,” he replied. “You’ve been wanting me to host this for a long time. Congratulations, I’ll do it.”
He’s so sure of himself, in fact, that he’s already calling it a “win.”
“I got this,” he added. “Congratulations, you’re gonna have another win under your belt. Matter of fact, another one…Go ahead and book your vacation, we’re good. I got this. I’m hosting the BET Hip-Hop Awards.”
In his caption for the video conference with Hill, Khaled also revealed that he has some surprises up his sleeve.
But Khaled won’t just be the show’s host. He might also be a big winner throughout the evening as he’s up for nine awards, including DJ of the Year, MVP of the Year, and Hustler of the Year.
The show will be taped Sept. 17 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, but fans will have to wait to see the televised show on Oct. 4.
