Don’t forget to include Common’s album on your holiday wish list. The Chi-town MC’s ninth album The Dreamer, The Believer will now arrive just in time for Christmas.
Common called into “The Morning After” on West Michigan’s 104.5 WSNX to announce the album’s new release date. “It’s gonna come out December 20,” revealed the star of the new AMC series “Hell on Wheels.”
The album, which features the single “Blue Sky,” was delayed from its November 22 date.
“We just wanted to get all the singles out that we wanted to get out before the album comes, give it the right preparation time,” explained Common. “But we’re really charged about it. It’s looking really good.”
He also addressed his departure from Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label.
“We good people on good terms. Really, in all truth, it’s family. It just was a business thing where releasing this album wouldn’t as been as beneficial to release it on a G.O.O.D. Music label, but I’m still G.O.O.D. Music family.”
While he’s no longer signed to Kanye’s label, he will be contributing to the G.O.O.D. Music compilation, due next spring.
“I’m planning on going in the studio soon to work on that.”
