Big Sean put on for his city during his triumphant return to Detroit last night. Following last December’s show at the Palace, the 25-year-old MC brought his hits and some special guests to DTE Energy Music Theatre. He had over 12,000 of his Big Believers singing along to his hits and new Hall of Fame cuts including “Nothing Is Stopping You,” “First Chain,” and “Beware.”
His lion mascot Rico got the crowd pumped up as he delivered “My Last” and “Marvin & Chardonnay.” In a heartwarming moment, Sean embraced his mother Myra onstage during “Memories” and was seen wiping tears from his face.
The crowd erupted in cheers when Drake hit the stage for “All Me” and “Started From the Bottom,” while Nicki Minaj helped close out the two-hour evening with “Dance (A$$)” and “MILF.”
“I’ve never come to a Big Sean show, but this ni**a gotta be one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met in the music business,” said Nicki. “I thank you guys for coming out tonight to support him because he’s one of those ni**as who’s really who he says he is.”
Sean thanked everyone for coming out.
“What a crazy ass night man! #Detroit Vs Everybody! I really enjoyed myself w/ the people I love…#GOOD night,” he tweeted.
