A week after the release of their joint album TWENTY88, Big Sean and Jhené Aiko debut the 15-minute short film for “Out of Love,” comprised of several songs off the project. The duo shows off their chemistry while portraying adult film stars of the future. They attend the XXX adult film awards (look for a cameo from O’Shea Jackson Jr.) and hit the bedroom for some intimate scenes while the camera rolls.
In the clip for “Selfish,” they act on set of a blaxploitation film, while dealing with their own relationship drama on and off camera. The third scene, set to their song “Talk Show,” takes place on set of a talk show, but quickly takes a turn for the worse. They both end up walking off set before segueing into “London Bridge,” while they try to repair their damaged relationship. But will it end up being a historical disaster?
According to Flaunt, they drew inspiration from films including 1973’s Coffy starring Pam Grier, Roger Moore’s Bond films, and 2015’s sci-fi flick Ex Machina.
“It’s a ’70s aesthetic, but we’re in the future,”
Aiko tells the magazine.
