Some of music’s biggest stars join forces in a powerful PSA regarding race and inequality in America.
Beyoncé, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Pharrell, A$AP Rocky, Swizz Beatz, Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah, and U2’s Bono are among the celebrities that appear in “23 Ways You Could Be Killed If You Are Black in America,” a video released by Mic.
Queen Bey lists “riding in your girlfriend’s car with a child in the back” as a reason, citing the recent incident where Philando Castile was shot and killed by a police officer during a traffic stop.
The video also honors Sandra Bland, Freddie Gray, Alton Sterling, Trayvon Martin, Sean Bell, and Mario Woods, among others.
Keys, who helped organize the video for her We Are Here Movement, caps it off with a strong message.
“We demand radical transformation to heal the long history of systemic racism,” she says, “so that all Americans have the equal right to live and to pursue happiness.”
Others, including Drake, August Alsina, Joe Budden, and The Game have also spoken out about these issues.
Watch them come together and demand justice.
