After shocking the world with her surprise album, Beyoncé returned to the stage for her “Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.” Queen Bey performed “XO” for the first time at Chicago’s United Center on Friday night.
“I’m gonna sing this song, which is a brand new song,” she said. “It hasn’t even been out for 24 hours. I want to sing this to ya’ll because it was written for ya’ll.”
She asked the audience to do a call and response with her, and they already knew all the words.
“This is the first time. Something I’ll never forget,” said Bey.
The ballad, penned by Ryan Tedder and The-Dream, is slated to be the second single off BEYONCÉ following “Blow” and “Drunk in Love.”
