Bow down to Beyoncé. The pop superstar has shattered an iTunes record with her surprise album, which sold a staggering 828,773 copies in its first three days.
According to a press release from Apple, BEYONCÉ has become the fastest-selling album ever on the iTunes Store worldwide.
The fifth solo project from Beyoncé also broke the U.S. first-week album sales record with 617,213 sold and hit No. 1 in 104 countries. It bests the previous one-week iTunes record held by Taylor Swift’s Red, which sold 465,000 copies in October 2012.
If that wasn’t enough, Queen Bey earns the largest sales week of 2013 for a woman.
BEYONCÉ will easily debut at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200 when the chart is released on Wednesday. Sales are tracked Monday through Sunday.
The heavily-guarded album launched on iTunes on Friday featuring 14 new songs and 17 videos. Physical copies are in production and will arrive in time for Christmas.
