Finally Ricky admits that he’s a homosexual, for years throughout his career whenever he was asked a question about his sexual orientation, he never answered so people assumed he was homosexual.

Martin wrote a message yesterday on his website saying: “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man.” I know it took him long to do it but what inspired him was his two twin boys… Martin says “To keep living as I did up until today would be to indirectly diminish the glow that my kids were born with.” Ricky waited for the acceptance to come from within before admitting it to people.

Martin kept his sexuality private because people advised him to, telling him it would hurt his career, but that made him insecure and scared, but he takes responsibility for all his actions.

Gay, Lesbian Alliance against Defamation said a statement after Ricky’s honesty saying “When someone like Ricky Martin comes out, hundreds of millions of people now have a cultural connection with an artist, a celebrity and, perhaps most importantly, a father who happens to be gay.”
