R&B group Jagged Edge will be recognized at this year’s World Music and Dance Awards Thursday on March 25 in Hollywood, California. The group is being honored for their consistency and for inspiring other upcoming R&B artists throughout their career. This will be the group’s first ever Lifetime Achievement Award.
15 years ago the group got their start after Jermaine Dupri signed them to So So Def Records. After a three year hiatus the group is set to release their seventh studio album this year titled The Remedy via Slip-N-Slide Records. The first official single for the album is titled Tip Of My Tongue which features label mate Trina and Gucci Mane.
Other celebrities that are set to be a part of the celebration will include Lisa Raye, John Legend, Cuba Gooding Jr., Omar Gooding, and many others.
In addition to honoring Jagged Edge the event will also feature a special tribute to the late Michael Jackson. Performers include the winners of 2009 America’s Best Dance Crew and other performances from different genres of music and dance. The event will be taped live and will appear on an international web cast.
