Can’t stop, won’t stop. Diddy’s on top.
Forbes has once again unleashed its annual Hip-Hop Cash Kings list and Puff Daddy’s doing the Diddy bop at No. 1 for the second year in a row.
How much did he earn? Thanks in large part to his Ciroc deal, Sean Combs raked in a whopping $62 million over the past year. Much of that came from non-music ventures, but he is currently touring with his Bad Boy family.
Who came in at No. 2? Hint: he’s a business, man. Jay Z follows Puff with the second slot thanks to $53.5 million. Although he hasn’t released an album this year, he’s still benefited greatly from Roc Nation, TIDAL, Armand de Brignac champagne, and D’Ussé cognac as well as other dealings.
Creeping, and creeping, and creeping in at No. 3 is Dr. Dre with $41 million. Not only is he still raking in cash from his $3 billion Beats deal, but he’s also earning dough off the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton.
Drake falls out of the top 3 this year, coming in at No. 4 with $38.5 million. Deals with Nike, Apple, and Sprite helped that payday. Meanwhile, Wiz Khalifa pops up at No. 5 with $24 million and Nicki Minaj shows up at No. 6 with $20.5 million as the only woman in the top 10. See the rest of the list below.
