The full episode of the mini-documentary is yet to be released.
Nas is the next artist featured in Fader’s “Obey Your Thirst” campaign sponsored by Sprite.
In the recently released trailer for the second episode of the mini-documentary series, the Queens rapper gives insight into his musical success.
“My music evolves the way my life evolves,” he says.
Nas has been rapping for two decades, releasing his debut album Illmatic in 1994.
“Trust in yourself and always push the envelope,” he says.
Drake was the first artist featured in the series.
Drake says that it is important to stand out in the industry by being transparent.
“Rap music has always been about storytelling,” he says. “I’ve never seen the sense in crafting a story that isn’t my own. Just rapping is not really that impressive anymore. There just has to be more. You have to be a multi-layered artist. My father was like, ‘If you really wanna shock the world, you’ll sing and rap.’ I was like, ‘You’re crazy. This is like the worst idea possible.'”
Future “Obey Your Thirst” interviews are slated to feature Nas, Vince Staples and Isaiah Rashad.
