LL Cool J and Brad Paisley couldn’t have anticipated that their collaboration “Accidental Racist” would have received so much backlash. But they won’t let that stop them from collaborating again. After guesting on his new album Wheelhouse, Paisley returns the favor, singing the hook on “Live for You” off LL’s album Authentic.
Instead of tackling race relations and prejudice, the fellas keep it simple, professing their love for a special lady. LL sticks to rapping, while his country co-star handles the hook and plays guitar.
“I basically brought Brad into my world,” LL tells USA Today. “It’s not gimmicky; it’s not some kind of song that isn’t true to who I am as an artist. It’s very current and fresh, in terms of who I am. But it’s not gimmicky.”
Due April 30, Authentic also features collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Eddie Van Halen, Travis Barker, and Monica.
