Mother of the late Tupac Shakur, Afeni Shakur, has announced that she plans to release her son’s entire body of work. What will this mean for the fans? Will this idea sink or float? Some feel that this is a genius idea since Tupac’s fans still live on over ten years after his death, while others feel that his mother may just want the attention or publicity and that this serves no purpose. Some may need to fully understand the extreme grief of a mother losing an amazing son to senseless gun violence without a captured culprit. Grieving is by far the worst pain on earth and many still feel that Hip Hop has lost its way since so many heavyweights have passed away. The image of hip Hop has definitely changed and it takes someone with a specific effortless talent and drive to even consider them as the new face of true Hip Hop. The culture has somehow become a fad over time. Tupac’s mother is simply dealing with her loss the only way she can. He left an entire legacy and she plans to reveal that to everyone. Afeni states,

“I believe it is our responsibility to make sure that Tupac’s entire body of work is made available for his fans. My son left many incomplete pieces and even more unfinished ideas. Using the blueprints he gave us, I am committed to fulfilling this duty.”

Tupac left the world way too soon and like most great lyricists, he had an astounding amount of work that his fans have to yet to hear. Tupac is among one of the greatest artists of all time. He changed what Hip Hop felt like alongside Notorious B.I.G. His songs were poetry and told stories and unveiled the truth. There is no one who can match the looks or sound of this iconic figure. He has influenced and will continue to be the muse of nearly every upcoming music artist. Continuously played as if they were brand new, his legacy will live on for generations to come. The love and respect Afeni has for her son is inspiring. Tupac spoke on his life events and many of them included the relationship he had with this mother.

Afeni Shakur is the head of her son’s estate that is ran by Jampol Artist Management and has the power to release any of his incomplete projects that the fans would appreciate to hear. The near future may consist of new music from the very well missed artist. Had Tupac still been alive and well in the mainstream, most of these corny rapper’s career would not exist. We live in a world of artist beef and if someone were to dare disrespect Tupac, their world would be shattered. There is no competition with the greatest. What will be expected from these unfinished projects? Was there a message that was not told? After about 15 years, will we be able to perceive the music the way it as intended back then? Time will only tell. –Free @InkStains_
