T.I. is the next rapper/actor to take on cable TV as he joins the cast of Starz’s “Boss.”
T.I. is no stranger to the world of television, but the Atlanta rapper is now embarking on his debut dramatic role on the small screen. Deadline reports that Tip will be joining the cast of the Starz series “Boss” for its upcoming second season.
The Grand Hustle impresario will join the cast of the critically acclaimed program for a season long guest arc. According to the report, T.I. will play opposite the show’s lead Kelsey Grammer as Trey, a former gang member seeking office in Chicago’s City Hall.
“Boss” is a political drama that follows the mayor of Chicago – played by Grammer, who won a Golden Globe this year for the role – struggling to maintain his position of authority after being diagnosed with a neurological disorder.
The second season of the program will begin filming on location in the Windy City this Monday and is expected to premiere later this year on Starz.
