Rapper 50 Cent is celebrating his 35th birthday today (July 6th) and according to the 50, he will take it light.
The rapper, who is preparing to tour Brazil, will spend quality time with his family, in addition to taking out the time to do something nice for others, most notably his grandparents.
“It’s more fun for me to just not have to do anything and turn the phone off,” 50 Cent told DJ Whoo Kid on G-Unit Radio. “When my birthday comes, instead of buying stuff for myself, I’ll buy stuff for them and wait until the occasion comes to give it to them.”
50 has made millions of dollars through his various business ventures, which includes G-Unit Records, G-Unit Radio, a G-Unit clothing line and a stake in Vitaminwater, which earned the rapper an estimated $100 million when Coca-Cola bought the company in 2007.
“I got what I want,” said 50 Cent. “When you achieve more than you anticipate and if you’re blessed with having a long enough career, you’ll get over a lot of different things. And I think we are all conditioned to want things we don’t need. After you acquire them and you get comfortable with them, you realize, you never really needed that stuff.”
