During their trip to South Africa for the World Cup, Alicia Keys and her fiancé Swizz Beatz had their union and unborn child blessed in a traditional Zulu ceremony in Illovo, a suburb of Johannesburg.
According to Times LIVE, the blessing took place under a fig tree known as “the healing tree,” which represents good fortune and health. The happy couple was accompanied by Alicia’s mother Terri Augello, younger brother Cole, and a camera crew documenting their trip.
The Grammy-winning songstress, who is around five months pregnant, wore a blue sash and tribal beads, while Swizz sported a red sarong, leopard-print sash, and fur-trimmed hat, as they were blessed by two female priests.
